There was this one time I caught Artie standing out behind the Dawnstar Sanctuary, his expression a creepy reptilian rictus I can only describe as a self-satisfied sneer.
He looked like nothing so much as a velociraptor hearing a ladle hit the floor of a theme park kitchen. I was terrified.
Not just because it was the first time I’d ever seen his teeth (save whenever the camera penetrated his head) but because he wouldn’t stop. I made him run around to try to reset his default position. Nothing. He Shouted. His expression returned to neutral until the animation sequence ended, and then I watched his eyebrows furrow and his lips curl back up into that same snarl.
I figured maybe since his becoming the most important and notorious assassin in Skyrim, the game decided to permanently adjust his facial rigging into something more appropriately monstrous. “No!” I said. “Onmund will leave him looking like that!! No matter how dashing and Ezio-like his robes are!”
But his face reset as soon as I left the area so maybe he was just smelling a horker fart.
While plains lend little cover, what you do come across makes for easy pickings.
